The condor for the Incas was a sacred bird as it is so far for the people who live in the Andes of Peru, for them it is the messenger of God, it is the one that links the earth with the sky because every day the Condor takes off high towards the sky and then descend to the depth of the canyons formed by another deity the river.
This way of life of the Condor can be visited to the South West of Cusco to only three hours of trip to Chonta Community at 3,500 meters of altitude.

ITINERARY: FULL DAY JOURNEY CUSCO – QUILLARUMIYUC – TARAWASI – LIMATAMBO – CHONTA – CUSCO
We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at 7:45 a.m. in order to take a trip to our destination of the condor viewpoint.
We will pass through some picturesque villages like Poroy, Izcuchaca, Tambillo, Zurite Pampaconga. On the way we will visit Qillarumiyoc considered as temple of fertility and the Moon since the Inca’s time after descending to the valley of Limatambo we will visit Tarawasi considered as a Tambo ( place to rest ) surrounded by beautiful terraces and very well finished Inca constructions. After the guided tour we will have lunch in Limatambo , afternoon we will travel for one hour more to Chonta the community we will check in at the entrance and start to walk for 3 km route to the Mirador del Condor where we will wait for the arrival of the condors that return to their nests that will allow us a spectacular sighting of condors with the valley of Apurimac in the background . After taking pictures and enjoy a unique experience to be closer to Andean condor you will return to the entrance by the same route until the entrance. You will take the bus that waits for you to return to Cusco there are two options drop in dontown or at your hotel in Cusco around 19 hrs.
